University at Albany

University at Albany

Bill has remained an active alumnus since graduation (B.S.’81) with the establishment of an endowed scholarship, serving as an Alumni mentor, and playing an active role in recruitment for the Northwestern Mutual nationally ranked internship program. Bill is also a member of the Board of Directors at The University at Albany Foundation.

Through his relationship with the University, Bill secured a new space for the Girls Inc Eureka! Program; a free, five-year program serving 120-150 girls from the Capital Region each year, introducing them to STEM, personal development, sports, mentorship and career exploration.

The University at Albany Alumni Association recognized Bill with the Excellence in Business Award, at the 2018 Excellence Awards Gala in April 2018. The event recognizes alumni and friends of the University for their outstanding achievements and service to the University community.

Alex's Lemonade Stand

Childhood cancer is a cause that’s important to Bill, the Atrium Financial Group and many of their colleagues at Northwestern Mutual. It’s the leading cause of death by disease in kids ages 1 to 19 in the United States.

Atrium Financial Group participates in fundraising events throughout the year, including the Annual Lemon Tournament, and hold their own lemonade stands in the community to help raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Learn more about the organization and how you can donate here.

Girls inc

Girls Incorporated

Girls Incorporated inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. The organization is committed to helping girls build skills and capabilities for a responsible, confident and self-sufficient adulthood. Bill and his wife Linda have been active volunteers with Girls Inc of the Greater Capital Region since 2016, inspired to join by their own daughters.

Bill formerly served as Chair of the Girls Inc. Foundation Trust Committee, and over the years has adopted families during the holidays, encouraged support for a new Teen Room, introduced new prospective donors to Girls Inc, and spearheaded a matching gifts campaign.

Bill was awarded $30,000 total in grants for Girls Inc as one of Northwestern Mutual’s Community Service Award winners in both 2018 and 2020. You can see media coverage from 2018 here. He also secured an additional $5,000 for the organization as an Invest in Others, Grans for Good recipient.

Wellspring

Wellspring is the domestic violence and sexual assault services resource for Saratoga County residents and the sexual assault services resource for Washington County residents. Wellspring’s mission is to support survivors and engage our community to end relationship and sexual abuse. Our vision is a community free of relationship and sexual abuse.

Sherry is a board member emeritus of Wellspring, and secured a $25,000 grant for the organization in 2019 in honor of her being named a Northwestern Mutual Most Exceptional Community Service Award Winner.

ARCC

Women's Business Council

The Women’s Business Council promotes the affinity group of women-owned businesses, sole proprietorships, and women professional members of the ARCC and to encourage increased business and collaboration among its ranks.

Sherry is the founder and 2019-2020 chair of the Adirondack Regional Chamber’s Women’s Business Council.

Fifty FC

Fifty FC

The Fifty FC is a local, volunteer run, not for profit organization serving the youth of our community. The purpose of the club is to operate both a non-competitive Recreation, and a competitive travel soccer program.

Jay serves as the Treasurer of the Fifty FC Soccer club.

Glenville rotary

Glenville Rotary

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Local initiatives focus on Glenville parks, eradicating hunger in our community, supporting youth activities and recognizing our Veterans for their service.

Jay serves on the board of the Rotary Club of Glenville, NY Foundation.

American Corporate Partners

American Corporate Partners is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting U.S. Veterans in their transition from the armed services to the civilian workforce. With the help of business professionals nationwide, ACP offers free mentorships for long-term career development to the veteran community.
